Head of Rigging 4 Wuhan 2014-12-31

Job requirement:

 

• Competently assemble, construct, maintain and operate all rigging equipment for acrobatic activities as needed for training, special events, rehearsals and performances.

• Supervise and delegate responsibility to staff of the rigging department.

• Supervise the rigging of overhead stage equipment including lighting, sound, automation, scenery, props, etc. during rehearsals and performances.

• Work as a team member in collaboration with:  Aquatics, Automation, Carpentry, Properties, Electrics, Sound, SFX, Wardrobe and Stage Management.

• Maintain a safe working environment at all times and conform to all safety standards.

• Be available and flexible for work schedules, work calls, training, maintenance and performances.

• Participate in the regular, thorough and diligent inspection of all installations.

• Insure rigging department documentation is current and formally recorded. 

• Participate in the documentation of all system and show cue changes and keep a log of all maintenance and regular inspections.

• Maintain, inspect, and replace as needed all acrobatic harnesses and belts.

• Coordinate the rigging crew working on maintenance, rehearsals, artist training and performance cue tracks.

• Coordinate scheduling and training of staff as required.

• Operate a rigging show track and oversee rigging crew while performing other show tracks.

• Ensure the integrity of artistic rigging during performances in keeping with the intent of the designer.

• Coordinate special projects including the research, purchase and installation of specialty rigging related items.

• Prioritize and assign maintenance and inspection of rigging systems, automated equipment, aircraft cable, cable swaging, fall arrest, rescue operations, high rigging, ground rigging, rappelling on a regular schedule to insure thorough, timely scrutiny of all gear within the audio area.

• Attend and participate in the weekly HOD meetings.

• Work closely with Artistic Directors and Stage Management in supporting their needs during rehearsals and performances.

• Insure that equipment and supplies are stocked in sufficient quantity to insure the ongoing needs of the production.

• Maintain safety procedures for staff: enforce fall protection protocols, the use of personal protective gear, safe tool handling, etc.

• Be responsible for the efficient management of labor and material expenses in the rigging department within parameters set by production management.

• Assist with the establishment of standard operating procedures and lead the department by conforming to and improving these procedures.

• Insure regular, respectful and clear communication with other department heads, stage management, and production management. 

• Coordinate the administrative needs of the department including: purchasing paperwork, disciplinary matters, vacation requests, daily payroll time sheets for staff, labor and material estimations and specifications for production management, etc.

Head of Automation 3 Wuhan 2014-12-31

Job requirement:

• Supervise and delegate responsibility to staff of the automations department.

• Coordinate the automations crew working on maintenance, rehearsals, artist training and perfect performance cue tracks.

• Preserve the on going; long term “opening night” quality and artistic integrity of the production.

• Coordinate scheduling and training of staff as required.

• Be available and flexible for work schedules, work calls, training, maintenance and performances.

• Operate the automations control console during performances and insure training of multiple back up technicians.

• Ensure the integrity of automations show movements during performances in keeping with the intent of the Artistic Director and designer.

• Coordinate special projects including the research, purchase and installation of specialty automation related gear.

• Prioritize and assign maintenance and inspection of automation systems, including stage lifts, line sets, moving scenic elements, hydraulic systems, sky motion, center ceiling, winches and motors,and remote control devices, on a regular schedule to insure thorough, timely scrutiny of all gear within the automations domain.

• Work closely with the Artistic team and Stage Management in supporting their needs during rehearsals and performances.

• Insure that equipment and supplies are stocked in sufficient quantity to insure the ongoing needs of the production.

• Insure automation department documentation is current and formally recorded to preserve the original intention of the designers.

• Assist with the establishment of standard operating procedures and lead the department by conforming to and improving these procedures.

Manager of lighting department 3 Wuhan 2014-12-31

Qualifications :

• Training of lighting team and daily management of lighting department ;

• Leading lighting team to create safe and consistent systematical operation rules and operating automatic performance system;

• In charge of aquatics activities;

• In the phase of show creation, formation and alteration, lead lighting crew to meet the program lighting requirements based on the development of show and program creation and training phase.

• In charge of lighting team and department; in charge of staff working performance and recruitment of new employees; managing and formulating budget and capital expenditure in coordination with program production manager;

• Leading all the maintenance crews to troubleshoot and maintain lighting system; developing inspection and maintenance plan and system;

• Drawing up maintenance and training plans;

• Drawing up and developing training and staff reservation plan systematically and coordinating this plan with other technical departments and stage management departments. 

• Establishing system and policies in accordance with all security requirements to ensure safe working environment; all staff are required to receive safety and contingency rescue training;

• Developing plans on rescue and safety strategy with the lighting team together; 

• Adaptable to flexible working plans, such as working calls, special incidents, rehearsal, training, maintenance and night shows. 

• Keeping in touch with lighting vendors and manufacturers regarding equipment renewal and maintenance 

• In charge of lighting system installation, stock and supplies, equipment maintenance, renewal and its inspection and maintenance record. 

• Coordinating performance and rehearsal with other departments and staff, such as technical director and program production manager and stage management;

• Developing security project with all the technical group. 

• Observing and implementing security policies

• Establishing contingence procedure of performance system and staff safety and evacuation procedure with the whole technical team. Making sure that the lighting team will be trained and carry out rehearsal according to the above procedures.   

• Possessing all the electrical system knowledge related with water operation 

• Responsible for the electrical equipment in all departments;  

• Meeting the requirements of practice, rehearsal and performance in coordination with other teams or departments 

 

Job requirement:

• Stage scenery, lighting, electric, electronics, etc major related degree 

• Experience of working in big theater or big performance venues 

• Skilled at stage lighting system, equipment and system operation procedures in big theaters

• Independent lighting design experience in large-scale performances or charge of designing technical implementation will be prioritized  

• Skilled at all kinds of office software and CAD software     

• Experience in overseas performance or cooperation with foreign design group will be prioritized; 

• Command of the control and programming of lighting console will be prioritized; 

• Acquaintance of system maintenance and repair and related softwares will be prioritized; 

• Having economic management experience in staff, resource and lighting;

• Good communication and matters handling skills; great technical support for art creators;

• Assigning priorities and high stress tolerance 

• Handling diverse creation requirements flexibly;

• Good English communication ability; 

• Acquaintance of usage and operational principle of video related equipment; 

• Need to familiarize with profession combining lighting system and theater architecture; 

• Acquaintance of architecture design and related laws will be prioritized; 

• Having electrical foundation and acquainted with mechanical and electrical knowledge 

• Good plans performance ability and art design ability; good coordinating skills and ability of working independently; good team work spirit; 

Coordinating with foreign production team in time and participating in tuning the lighting control system;

Able to receive training under water and thus be able to work in water; 

Experience in crew member management and good stress tolerance

Qualifications :
